All 120 hotels had their own website, but each needed to be managed separately. There was no consistent design for each page which lead to some confusion. There was no voucher shop for users to find promotions for the hotels. With 120 different websites, it was very time consuming to manage them all separately. With the poor design, customers were dissatisfied with their user experience on the site and were often not convinced to go forward with booking the hotel.
Using Pimcore, they developed 10 different templates according to brand standards of big hotel groups worldwide, and implemented these 10 templates in overall 120 different webpages, with different domains and several languages. The different templates were integrated into one system, so the objects can be used in more than one template to minimize the content management. On the new websites they were able to build in different interfaces, newsletter registration, and different payment and booking options. They were also able to build in a voucher shop on all the hotel websites and a central admin area for hotel staff with different access-rights.
The new websites were very effective and lead to increased traffic and bookings. Users were able to learn about the hotels and then could easily book and pay for their reservations. Because of the voucher tool, the website became more attractive for customers and their loyalty increased. The new websites were significantly easier to manage and could be easily updated as needed – all in one place. The website administrators were able to save time that could be used to focus on more strategic initiatives. All of these points lead to cost savings, enhanced customer satisfaction, and ultimately increased revenue for GCH Hotel Group.
