Tonight we've changed also the the authentication method for our developer forum.
That means that you can now access all our non-public offers/features on pimcore.org with a single account and have to login only one time.
Important notice for all current users
Since we were not able to move also the password to the new SSO system you have to set a new password for your existing account.
Please visit the following page, select "I have forgotten my password" and request a new password for your account:
http://www.pimcore.org/issues/secure/ForgotLoginDetails!default.jspa
Note: If you have already an existing account at JIRA, you can use this one, without requesting a new password.
The Recycle Bin is a holding area for files and folders that are held before final deletion. Every item (document, assets and objects) which is deleted out of the tree, will be moved into the Recycle Bin, where you can restore it completly whenever you like.
If the deleted item has childs, they're also moved into the Recycle Bin, but not as single items, they are included directly in their parent item. The behavior is the same you know already from your operating system.
The items in the Recycle Bin are completly removed out of the common storage tables for the elements in the database, so they don't have a negative effect to the performance and don't flood the common storage.
Thanks to our diligent translators in the pimcore community, pimcore becomes available in more and more languages. For conveniently downloading and updating system language files, we introduced the system language downloader in pimcore

Administrators and translators can download system language files directly to their pimcore instance and start working with them.
For those of you who already changed and updated language files manually, please note that since build 456 pimcore/config/texts only holds the core language file en.csv. All other downloadable language files are located in website/var/config/texts
Enjoy!
Currently we're playing around with some HTML5 features.
The most useful feature of HTML5 for pimcore is the drag & drop upload, because this fit's exactly into the drag&drop concept of pimcore.
So we started a proof of concept, you can see the result in the following screencast.
At the moment it's only working in >= FF 3.5, sadly the other browser vendors have not implemented the XHR upload the standard HTML5 way, currently we are looking for a solution to provide this feature also for other browsers (except IE8), which works without any browser-plugin, like Flash, Silverlight ot Java.
You can try it yourself, just install the latest build (528) of pimcore.
Geo-Widgets
We've implemented 2 new widgets for the object module. According to the geo-point widget, there is now also an widget to create bounds and polygons (regions).
See it in action:
Geo-Bounds

Reverse Routing
Now it's possible the define also the resulting link for a route, and you can use it directly with the Zend View Url helper. Read more about it here.

Right now we are going through many organizational issues and we are working hard on offering the community more insight into pimcore project management.
We separated pimcore from our internal issue management and made it accessible to the community in a public JIRA instance, so that you can gain insight into open issues, bugs fixed and features on the road map for upcoming versions. The community can let us know about any bugs right through the common practice of creating an issue for the dev team.
We ported the existing documentation to Confluence so that it can be viewed and searched by the means of a full featured wiki including commenting and tagging functions. We warmly welcome helping hands in putting down best practices, tutorials and more detailed documentation.
Moreover, we are offering the community the possibility of translating pimcore and translating pimcore plugins to their desired language. Through the support of the pimcore community, pimcore has been translated to Dutch, Polish and Swedish. French and Ukrainian also seem to be on the way. Keep up the great work!
Plugin developers can now share their plugins at the pimcore plugin hub by registering their own plugin servers or by submitting a plugin to a public pimcore plugin repository.
Are you not a member of the pimcore community yet? Join us now by registering!
Please note, that right now there are separate registrations required for the forum and wiki/issues. We are working on providing a SSO ;-)
We just moved our blog to confluence. This allows registered users to comment and discuss our blog entries. Enjoy ...
